Fashion show takes students around the world

Student fashion organization Flemister Ink will present “All Around the World: Fashion Show” 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.

The fashion show will feature fashions and designs from the top six fashion capitals: Milan, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York. The last capital is one of the show’s surprises.

“I did this in high school, and we had an all around the world fashion show,” Danielle Flemister, president of Flemister Ink, said. “I have different ideas now for the show since I have more experience.”

Danielle put together a PowerPoint presentation for her models with fashion trends in each city, described what she wanted and allowed the 20 models to find their own outfits. Models were advised to shop at Goodwill for the cheap prices and unusual pieces.

“I wanted to have an organization that’s not just one group of people, but to be very diverse,” Flemister said. “I figured what a better way to get people and create an international show.”

Admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The show will include games, prizes and even a contest to win a makeover. People are automatically entered in the makeover drawing once they buy a ticket.
