Fashionable things to do in Kent
These local places offer fashion fun at affordable prices. Better yet, attendees can view historic fashion for free.
Kent State University Museum
The fashion museum is celebrating its 25th anniversary with one of its biggest exhibitions to date, “Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen.” The exhibition features playbills, photographs, makeup and costumes from some of Hepburn’s theater and movie performances, including the black dress from “Adam’s Rib.” The museum is in the front of Rockwell Hall.
Figleaf
Need an outfit for a date, formal occasion or something to wear for a night out? The latest trends for women’s clothing and accessories can be found at Figleaf at 138 E. Main Street. The store, organized by color, doesn’t order an item more than once, with the exception of basics like cardigans. Figleaf is currently getting three to four shipments of new spring clothes.
Einstein’s Attic
Einstein’s Attic carries a variety of fashionable clothes and accessories for men and women. The store gets new merchandise all the time, but because the pieces are one-of-a-kind, it may require a bit of hunting and a couple trips. But the deeply discounted prices, and rush that comes from finding something that fits, is well worth the effort. The vintage shop is at 115 Cherry St. in Kent.
B. Lux Boutique
Every item in B. Lux has been handpicked for that extra special touch. The store sells romantic and chic dresses, denim and accessories. New merchandise arrives weekly to the store at 46 Park Lane in downtown Hudson.
