We’ve all heard of them, maybe even thought of making one of them our own. The following list of majors fall under the category of “Useless.” There’s a strong possibility if you choose one of these as your major, your job search will become exponentially more difficult. We’re not saying you won’t find a job; we’re just saying it won’t be easy.

1. General studies

   What exactly does this mean anyway? The description says that a degree in General Studies provides “maximum freedom.” Maybe a little too much freedom. If you can’t narrow it down to something a bit more specific, maybe you should rethink spending thousands of dollars on an education.

2. Psychology

   You knew it was coming. Unless you’re planning on staying in school for a while, it’s probably a good idea to avoid a degree in psychology. For most jobs in this field, you’ll need your Ph.D.
