Finals are right around the corner, so it is time to get your study on. Did you know that there are several foods that can help you when taking an exam or studying? I wanted to know what they were, so I talked to Jodie Luidhardt, coordinator of the Nutrition Outreach Program, to see what they were. She first stressed that students should get about six to eight hours of sleep before taking an exam. Then she talked about several foods that could help with memory.

Those foods included salmon, tuna, sardines and trout (all foods with Omega 3 Fatty Acids).

She also mentioned that cinnamon can help your ability to perform tasks and improve short-term memory. So you might want to chew on some cinnamon gum or add a little bit to your coffee.

For those chocolate lovers out there, a little piece of chocolate before an exam can make you more alert, but be cautious because if you eat too much you might crash later because of all the sugar.
