A young-faced KSU volleyball fought hard to earn their first home victory of the season at the MAC Center on Aug. 30.

On a squad that features 7 freshmen, the Flashes were able to win a 5-set match against local competitor Youngstown State in their season home opener, under the leadership of two upperclassmen.

Featured in the match-up was junior middle-blocker Katarzyna Krupa, who had the team highs of 16 kills and five blocks on the night against the Penguins.

Also having another solid outing was senior outside-hitter Maigan Larsen, who posted a double-double on the night with 15 kills and a team leading 11 digs on the night.

Th Flashes will not be in town for long, as they travel to Long Island, N.Y., to participate in the Stony Brook Holiday Inn Express Tournament, Sept. 3-4.
