Assault outside Centennial ‘not random,’ no threat to safety

Kent State University Police are investigating an assault that took place Thursday at 10:10 p.m. near Centennial A and B.

Police are not releasing any information due to it being an ongoing investigation. Emily Vincent, director of University media relations, said the assault is not believed to be random and the incident may have been provoked.

Police are currently working to identify the participants and witnesses.

Vincent said a FlashAlert was not issued because police did not believe there was any safety issue on campus.
