Harrison donates money to name weight room
The Kent State Board of Trustees is expected to approve a nearly $100,000 gift from one of the most-successful football players in school history.
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison is donating the money to improve the strength and conditioning room in the Kent State Field House. The room is expected to be named after Harrison.
Eric Mansfield, executive director of university media relations, said the gift is a good way for Harrison to link his name to future football players.
“He’s certainly a big supporter of Kent State football since he’s moved on to the NFL,” Mansfield said. “This is a great opportunity for him to give back to the program.”
