Kent State’s street fleet

The university’s Fleet Services crew has about a dozen staffers, but the team manages more than 200 vehicles across Kent State’s eight campuses. That’s thousands of dollars each year in gas and repairs to cut grass, plow snow and haul university officials around campus. Here’s the breakdown.

Speed: Maximum speed of 25 miles per hour. Drivers are advised to go 10 to 15 miles per hour on campus, said grounds keeping supervisor Jacob Biltz, who drives a golf cart on almost a daily basis.
