Kent Stark to host Oil and Gas Education series
The Ohio Small Business Development Center, Kent State University at Stark will present a four-part Oil and Gas Education series in conjunction with the attorneys at the Roetzel and Andress Law Firm. Kent Stark will host the Regulation of Oil and Gas in Ohio event at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 in Kent Stark’s Main Hall Auditorium.
The program will review Ohio’s newest law on oil and gas, S.B. 315. Roetzel and Andress Law Firm attorneys will also discuss Ohio regulations such as chemical disclosure, groundwater testing and permitting.
S.B. 315 establishes plans for possible new technologies that are meant to explore deep shale rock for natural gas. The law is controversial, but the Regulation of Oil and Gas in Ohio program is meant to be educational.
“The attorneys have a very direct knowledge of S.B. 315,” said Victor Pavona, director of the Ohio Small Business Development Center, Kent State University at Stark. “They have legal expertise of understanding the law. Our responsibility is to provide both sides of any positions taken but not take a position ourselves. The event will take the function of an educational format. ”
Community members, faculty, staff, and students are welcome at this event. Those interested can register online for $10 per person or $15 per couple at the Ohio Small Business Development Center, Kent State University at Stark’s website.
