The Trevi Fountain located in Rome, Italy is one of Europe’s most popular tourist sites. The Italian government announced Monday that the 18th-century fountain is getting a $2.9 million restoration. The project will take about 20 months to complete, and the Femdi Fashion House donated the funds for the fountain’s facelift. Visitors to the gorgeous fountain typically flip a coin into the water, and tradition says doing so ensures a prompt return to Rome.

An Arizona woman faces trial for allegedly slitting her boyfriend’s throat, stabbing him more than 30 times and shooting him in the head. Jodi Arias, 32, of Phoenix, told police three different stories about what happened the night of her boyfriend’s death, all of which included her innocence. The final tale she told she stated that she killed Travis Alexander because he was abusive. Her attorneys are scheduled to present the case Tuesday morning. None of the weapons used in the murder have been recovered.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich is planning an online “town hall” meeting for Thursday where participants will discuss the state of Ohio’s public education. The Republican governor says the session will begin at 6 p.m. on both Facebook and Twitter and encourages the public to submit suggestions, comments and concerns. Later this week, Kasich is supposed to lay out his proposals for school funding. To participate in this online meeting, Kasich says discussions will be on his social media pages.

At the 19th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, the cast of “Argo” took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Other notable awards went to Daniel Day-Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence for Outstanding Performance by a Male and Female in a Leading Role.
