Tickets to Kent State’s Presidential Speaker Series have been selling fast.

Eric Mansfield, executive director of University Media Relations, said approximately 2,500 tickets have been sold as of Monday. The ticket office expects to sell out all 5,144 seats for the speech.

Mansfield said there are the same number of tickets and seats available for the event. Anyone who has a ticket is guaranteed a seat at the event.

Students expressed their excitement about Wiesel coming to the university.

“I mean, he’s a Holocaust survivor,” senior English major Bryant Rogers said, “and a lot of us had to read ‘Night’ when we were in grade school. He’s recognizable.”

Erin Finnell, senior education studies major, said she thinks the tickets sold out fast not only because Wiesel is famous, but also because of the ticket accessibility.

“People can just hop on the Internet and they won’t forget to pick up a ticket,” Finnell said. “No wonder they’re going fast.”

Both free and $10 tickets are available to students online. The following are steps to getting tickets:

2. Choose the Kent State login options

3. Select either “Student” or “General Public” options to receive tickets

4. Enter billing information

5. Choose will-call or print out ticket option
