Art Education Practicum Class to Host Student Show

Kent State’s art education practicum is organizing a show to display student artwork Monday.

Abbey Kish, junior art education major, said the upcoming event will celebrate the student-teaching experiences of the class.

“Basically in practicum, each of us actually gets to teach a class of elementary students who come for a Monday arts lesson every week for nine weeks,” Kish said. “The exhibition is the culmination of [all our] work throughout the semester.”

Kish said her class consists of six- to seven-year-old students, but the ages can go to 12.

“We show each student’s work together and invite all the families to come celebrate,” Kish said.

The show will take place from 4:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. April 29 in the Art Building.
