Professor to lead discussion on Holocaust memoir Tuesday
Modern and Classical languages professor Kristin Stasiowski will lead “The Side of Good and Evil: Primo Levi and the Holocaust,” a discussion on Primo Levi, an Italian Jewish holocaust survivor, from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
Levi, a chemist and a writer, was the author of two novels, several short stories, poems and essays based on experiences during the Holocaust and chemistry.
Levi spent one year in the Auschwitz concentration camp and wrote the memoir “If This is a Man” published in 1947.
Stasiowski will discuss Levi’s Auschwitz memoir and the main theme of the book: human dignity.
The discussion is open to the public and will be in room 117 of the Business Administration Building.
