Kent State University Stark performs ‘Voices from Hurt Street’
Students from Kent State University’s Stark campus put on their self-written play, “Voices from Hurt Street” this past weekend, and plan to perform it again at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, as well as 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
“Voices From Hurt Street” is based on students’ personal experiences with sexual harassment. The script was written by students enrolled in the course, “Devising Theatre: Bullying and Abuse” in the fall 2012 semester, and final piece explores ways to handle abusive relationships.
The tickets are on sale and range from $7 to $10. Kent State students can attend the show for free with their Kent State I.D. Students from other universities can attend for $7 and community members for $10. The tickets can be purchased online at stark.kent.edu or at the box office located in the Fine Arts Building at Kent State Stark from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
