A Colorado man arrested yesterday after threatening to bomb Kent State University was arraigned in Ravenna Wednesday afternoon.

Louis J. Koleszar, of Glenwood Springs, Colo., is charged with making false alarms, a third-degree felony because it threatened the use of a weapon of mass destruction. The felony carries a sentence of up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Koleszar was arrested Tuesday after allegedly telling his cab driver that he intended to bomb Kent State. After the cab driver contacted her dispatcher, police met with the driver at S.R. 44 and arrested Koleszar.

Koleszar’s bond was set at $75,000. He was further ordered to stay away from any Kent State property, should he post bond.

The preliminary hearing for Koleszar will be Friday, June 14, at 9:45 AM in the Portage County Municipal Courthouse. He will be given a court-appointed lawyer.
