Missing KSU student investigation at a standstill
A search for a missing 19-year-old Kent State student came to a standstill Tuesday when investigators came up with nothing after several hours.
Taylor Robinson was last seen in early May. Her family hired Accurate Investigative Services, a local private investigation company, to look into the Akron woman’s disappearance. Investigators thought they had a lead when their search dog picked up on an abandoned white shirt and “several inches” of disturbed soil.
“We searched a wooded area … in Akron and were able to locate a large area of disturbed dirt,” said Thomas Fields, owner and president of the investigative firm.
After that, they immediately called the police.
It turned out to be nothing. Fields said police determined it was not a burial site. The search party was called off after four hours. So the search goes on.
Investigators are meeting with Akron Police on Sept. 1, Fields said. He hopes to “refocus the investigation.”
