Board of Trustees calls executive session December 16

Kent State’s Board of Trustees will gather for an executive session Monday in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room located on the second floor of the Kent campus library.

The board will discuss specific topics provided for under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law,” which include issues of employment and personnel, preparing for and engaging in collective bargaining, the purchase or sale of a property and legal matters.

The board held an executive session from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at its meeting Dec. 4. It also retired into executive session at the corporate offices of The Davey Tree Expert Company on Nov. 8. Charlene Reed, secretary to the board, said the board discussed issues of employment and personnel at the meeting.

According to Ohio Revised Code 121.22, the board can hold an executive session only after a “majority of a quorum of the public body determines, by a roll-call vote, to hold an executive session.” It will not host any committee meetings and will not discuss or take any recommendations or votes.
