A Franklin Township man who is charged in the killing of a missing Alliance man is set to have a pre-trial in July and a jury trial in August.

John Fox, 34, who was indicted Thursday in the murder of Justin Earley, 22, had his arraignment Monday morning with Judge Laurie Pittman in the Portage County Court of Common Pleas. His pre-trial is scheduled for July 25, and his trial is scheduled for Aug. 4.

Fox’s indictment included one count of murder with two specifications, one each for kidnapping and robbery during a murder, which could lead to the death penalty for Fox if he is convicted.

Earley’s body was found Jan. 17 at Fox’s Storer Suites apartment in Franklin Township.
