Audition for TV2!
TV2, Kent State and Portage County’s award-winning student-run television station, invites students to join the team. A team of over 200 students cover local news and air original entertainment and comedy TV shows. The College Media Association named TV2 the Collegiate TV Station of the Year for both 2012 and 2013.
If students have any interest in joining TV2 we have on-air auditions Thursday, January 16 in room 142 of Franklin Hall. News and weather auditions are from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sports, Comedy and Entertainment auditions are from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and there will be sports and news overflow auditions from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Those who audition are asked to dress professionally.
TV2 also needs help behind the scenes on its tech crew. If students are interested in production, graphics, audio, video and/or photography, they may sign up anytime from 1 to 9 p.m. at the TV2 Studio in 142 Franklin Hall. Computer access is provided.
No prior experience is necessary. Auditions and sign ups are not just open to journalism majors, but they are open to all majors.
TV2 airs on campus on channel 2.2 and broadcasts to approximately 25,000 homes in Portage County on Time Warner Cable’s channel 16. Programming can be streamed live anytime on tv2ksu.com. TV2 also shares a news website with the student newspaper, the Daily Kent Stater on KentWired.com.
