Dr. Beverly Warren smiles after being announced as Kent State University’s 12th president Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, to take effect in July. Warren will leave her position as Provost at Virginia Commonwealth University to replace outgoing President Lester Lefton.

Incoming Kent State President Beverly Warren will be meeting with faculty and student groups Thursday in her second visit since being named Kent State’s next president.

Warren will meet with members of Faculty Senate, Graduate Student Senate and other administrators in a tightly scheduled day, university spokesman Eric Mansfield said.

Warren currently is the provost at Virginia Commonwealth University and will continue in that position, visiting campus occasionally, until she takes over for retiring President Lester Lefton on June 1.
