The 2014 Olympics Opening Ceremony will be held Friday evening in Sochi, Russia. More than 3,000 athletes, a record number of Winter Olympics competitors, will compete in 98 different events. Details about the ceremony itself remain vague, but reports continue to come that there are terrorist plots against the games and the city’s hotels are not yet prepared for the Olympic visitors. Immigration laws are not expected to change this election year, according to House Speaker John Boehner. He said Republicans in the GOP-led house distrust President Barack Obama and oppose giving legal status to the 11 million immigrants here illegally. Read full story here.
