Kent Ministry hosts first ever ‘Prayer Night Against Cancer’
Journey Campus Ministry of Kent will host the first ever “Prayer Night Against Cancer,” on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Kiva. Those battling cancer or affected by the disease in any way are encouraged to come worship with music, prayer and testimonies.
During the event, there will be a representative from the American Cancer Society to share information and statistics about cancer. Kent State’s Voices of Testimony and a local band from Barberton and Stow will provide worship music. There will be moments of prayer throughout the night with testimonies and words of encouragement and faith, ending with a prayer for those with cancer.
Olivia Manda of Journey Campus Ministry said that the main purpose of the event is to increase the community’s faith in Jesus and in the power of their prayers to him.
“Miracle healings still do happen,” she said. “Furthermore, this event is also to give strength and restoration through prayer to the caregivers, and to those who have been affected by cancer.”
