Katherine’s Flick Pick: ‘The Princess and the Frog’
I get that I’m 20 years old and I shouldn’t live my life based on a cartoon or want to have my life be a cartoon, but this movie makes me 5 years old again, and 5-year-old me really wants her life to be a cartoon.
The film focuses around a poor waitress named Tiana who works several jobs in 1920s New Orleans to save up money in order to open her own restaurant. However, things get complicated when a prince from a fake foreign country comes to town and gets them both turned into frogs.
It’s a race to midnight on Mardi Gras to make sure that both Tiana and Prince Naveen never have to be amphibians again. In typical Disney fashion, it’s not without learning a few lessons along the way such as knowing the difference between “need” and “want” as well as going after your dreams.
