Best Pizza
Guy’s Pizza
The winner of the best pizza category is Guy’s Pizza in the middle of Water Street.
The establishment features a great combination of well-seasoned pizzas and specialty calzones, known as “guyzones.”
With the ability to order online and via the Guy’s Pizza mobile app, this affordable and delicious pizza place is also convenient for students.
General manager Evan Lundberg said Guy’s has a sweeter sauce that helps distinguish it from other pizza places, and they try to keep slices readily available throughout the day so you can swing by and grab a slice when you’re in a hurry.
Hungry Howie’s
Hungry Howie’s wins second place in the best pizza category, and this time it’s not the late hours that helped boost it into “Best of Kent” fame but instead the store’s flavored crust.
“The crust totally makes it worth it to go there,” sophomore nutrition major Haley Timbrook said.
Without paying an additional cost, you can choose between Cajun, butter, ranch and other flavors to amp up for pizza.
EuroGyro
Founded by George Istocki in 1984 in Akron. EuroGyro came to Kent in 1989. It was originally Europe Gyro Pizza before the name was shortened, but it haven’t lost its focus on dishing out quality pizzas.
One of Kent’s best-kept secrets may be EuroGyro’s Wacky Wednesdays, when you can get a 1-topping pizza for $6 if you pick it up from the store.
In addition to the pizza, senior news major Megan Wilkinson said, “It’s a great place for karaoke, beer and greasiness.”
