Eyes on Kent: Defying Gravity

Abigail Sachs’s first loves in life were writing and storytelling. Through music and theater, she realized there are multiple ways to tell stories.

Graduating in May with a degree in English, she hopes to work in Student and Accessibility Services for higher education. Despite a battle with cerebral palsy, she hopes to help others who have disabilities. ‘Defy Gravity’ will be written on her graduation cap as a tribute to the musical Wicked, a reflection of how she has overcome low confidence.

“You can’t let your past define who you are now,” she said, “The growth you experience makes [you] who you are.”
