Yogurt Vi

Walking into Yogurt Vi is like walking into a high-class hotel lobby. The faux marble floors and chandeliers almost make you forget that you’re at a frozen yogurt place. It’s not that easy to forget, though, because the second you walk in the doors you are greeted with the sweet smells of fro-yo, candies and fruit toppings and waffle cones.

The frozen yogurt destination opened in downtown Kent in September 2012 and has been flourishing ever since.

“Yogurt Vi is the best dessert place by far. I like that it offers healthier options than just regular ice cream and you can mix it up every time you go,” said junior public relations major Julianne Calapa.

Yogurt Vi offers 16 flavors per day with a wide variety of toppings, ranging from seasonal fruits to brownie and cheesecake pieces, giving guests the option of making their fro-yo creation a healthy treat or a guilty pleasure.

Insomnia Cookies

Being able to get warm cookies delivered right to your door sounds like a dream, but with Insomnia Cookies this fantasy can become a reality… until 3 a.m. that is.

Insomnia offers 12 types of cookies that can be delivered to your door, along with other treats like cookie cakes, ice cream and ‘cookiewichs’, two cookies with ice cream in the middle.

“I love Insomnia Cookies because of how quick their services are…and your cookies are always warm and fresh,” sophomore special education major Shantee Trudo said.

Insomnia’s delivery service runs from 4 p.m. until 2:45 a.m., but students can head downtown to Insomnia’s store location from noon until 3 a.m. to pick up a cookie or an ice cream treat.

Tree City Coffee & Pastry

As if indulging yourself in a great cup of coffee wasn’t enough, Tree City also offers fresh and delicious pastry options as well. The sweet smell of Tree City’s dessert options make them hard to resist.

“I came in for just coffee, but saw all of their dessert options and had to try one,” said Charles Davis, a first-time visitor to Tree City. “For the price, I couldn’t say no. You can tell the pastries are fresh; I’m happy I decided to satisfy my sweet tooth.”
