BlastOff to launch fall semester at Kent State
Bidding farewell to summer, Kent State will kick off the semester with BlastOff on Sunday, Aug. 24. The event will take place on the student green near Risman Plaza from 6 to 9 p.m.
BlastOff will welcome freshman with hot air balloons, a laser light show, information tables about different clubs on campus and a lot of school spirit.
“It’s a really good opportunity to unwind before the year starts,” said Marvin Logan, the Undergraduate Student Government executive director. “It’s an opportunity to get them engaged in things they might not already be doing and to get them more involved.”
Throughout BlastOff, students will enjoy live music from Plaid Brixx, a three-man rock band based out of Columbus, Ohio.
To close out the night, musicians Evan Evolution and Dominic Parisi will perform, and a laser light show will start at 9 p.m.
