Box Score

More than 100,000 football fans in Ohio Stadium on Saturday witnessed the difference in level of talent between the Mid-American Conference and the Big 10.

Kent State did not take care of the football or convert on third downs, as Ohio State jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back, dominating the Flashes in every facet of the game, 66-0.

The Buckeyes dominated the first half and took a 45-0 lead into halftime. Ohio State combined for 198 yards in the first quarter, 155 of those yards coming from the passing attack. J.T. Barrett was 21 for 28 in the half, with 297 yards and five touchdowns.

Kent State quarterback Colin Reardon struggled in the first half. The sophomore was pulled out of the game for a series and completed 10 of his 20 passes for 63 yards.

Kent State turned the ball over three times during play. All three came on Colin Reardon interceptions, and two of his three interceptions were deflected.

The Buckeyes extended their lead to 66-0 by dominating the second half much like the first, outscoring the Flashes 21-0.
