Flashes final two games rescheduled due to snow

Wednesday afternoon, the Kent State football team had its game against the Buffalo Bulls postponed and rescheduled for a later date due to extreme weather conditions.

The Buffalo area has already been pelted by roughly 70 inches of snow since Tuesday, and some areas are expecting more snow in the upcoming days.

Both teams will have to make the adjustment, switching from preparing to play under the lights to playing in the afternoon. The game was pushed back to this Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Flashes final game of the season at Dix Stadium against Akron was also rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 28 at 1 p.m. because of the postponement of the Buffalo game.

The Bulls aren’t the only team in town having trouble with the snow. The Buffalo Bills were forced to cancel practice on Wednesday and Thursday because of the snow, and are relying on the citizens of Buffalo to come out and be compensated to help shovel Ralph Wilson Stadium.

In a USA Today article from Thursday morning, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said, “I spoke to the county executive and the mayor about it,” Cuomo said during a media briefing in Buffalo. “Everybody would love to see a Bills game go forward, but I think even more, everybody wants to make sure that public safety comes first.

“And this point in time, everything we have to do with the driving ban, everything we just said, staying off the roads, would make a Bills game impractical.”
