VCD students to design projects for nonprofits at 24-hour CreateAthon

Visual Communication Design students will participate in a CreateAthon to create finished design pieces within a 24-hour period on Friday, Nov. 7 and 8 on the fourth floor of the University Library.

The event, hosted through the Kent State chapter of the American Institute for Graphic Arts, will connect students and professionals in the creative arts as well as give students an opportunity to design and brand a project for a nonprofit.

“This is the first year we are participating and running the event through our student chapter of AIGA,” said Jillian Coorey, assistant VCD professor. “We are excited to bring this event to Kent and for our students to be a part of this opportunity.”

Clients that have applied for the event will be matched with students based on needs and student capabilities. Although this is a VCD event, participants include students from other disciplines such as journalism, marketing and public relations.
