Former Cleveland Browns Pro Bowler Josh Cribbs signed a new contract with the Indianapolis Colts, Northeast Ohio Media Group confirmed Tuesday.

Cribbs, a Kent State alumnus who played quarterback for the football team from 2001 to 2004, played for the Browns from 2005 to 2013. He had been a free agent since last season, when he played a short time for the New York Jets before being place on the injured reserve in December. He now joins the ranks of the Colts as new wide receiver for them.

While in Cleveland, Cribbs became a pro bowler in 2007, 2009 and 2012. He established himself as one of the premier kick returners in the NFL, tying the NFL career record with eight kickoff returns for touchdowns. He also still holds the NFL record with two kickoffs of 100 yards or more returned for touchdowns in a single game.

A fan favorite during his time in Cleveland, Cribbs thanked Browns fans on Twitter for their support as he embarks on a new journey in his life with a fresh team.
