The Department of Modern and Classical Language Studies will host a speaker on archaeological finds in Mycenae, Greece on Nov. 13.

The speaker, Kim Shelton, is an archaeologists and professor from the University of California, Berkley. Shelton works at the ancient Greek site of Mycenae, said associate professor Sarah Harvey. Her presentation focuses on her work at the Petsas House from the 14th century B.C.

The lecture entitled, “Pottery, Paintings, and Pinakides: the latest dirt from Petsas House, Mycenae,” is sponsored by the Archaeological Institute of America. The event will take place in room 137 Bowman Hall at 7 p.m.

Students can attend a pre-lecture reception at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and an opportunity to meet Shelton. Harvey says the event is open to anyone who would like to attend.
