Women in Business Conference to be held Wednesday
Kent State University’s fifth annual Spirit of Women in Business Conference is going to be held March 4.
This event celebrates women in business and seeks to recognize prominent women in the field.
The keynote speaker is Sheena S. Iyengar, who has taught Master of Business Administration classes at Columbia Business School since 1998. Among the many awards she has received, she was selected as one of the 2011 Thinkers50, a list of the best management thinkers in the world.
Iyengar’s speech during the conference will focus on choice and strategy.
Virginia Albanese, the CEO and president of FedEx Custom Critical and Kent graduate, will receive the 2015 Spirit of Women in Business Award. Albanese was recently inducted into the Northeastern Ohio Business Hall of Fame.
Three breakout sessions will be held throughout the conference with three different presentation options for each. Topics of these presentations range from how to break the glass ceiling of women in business to why one should have a career strategy to using design thinking to improve happiness at work.
Registration is open for students and faculty. Student registration costs $10, and faculty registration costs $75.
The conference begins in the Kent Student Center Ballroom at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m.
