Being a college student, I have a Twitter and have gotten distracted by social media. Social media is the biggest thing that sparks my procrastination and has caused me to skip numerous homework assignments. Well, laziness is a major contributor to that but that’s a different story.

On twitter, we have all seen some interesting things. Ranging from memes to vines of people dancing. People usually retweet these things for a couple days and are the usually topic of conversation.

However, one twitter obsession has been blown way out of proportion. A picture of a dress has been circulating Twitter timelines for the past couple weeks and it has gotten obnoxious.

For those of you who are unaware, there was a picture of a dress that was tweeted. The color of the dress, however, is up for debate. The debate that is still going on and I’m hoping will end soon.

The dress was originally a mother-of-the-bride dress. Two people disagreed on the color of the dress. One thing led to another and the dress got retweeted and investigated by everyone on twitter to find out what actual colors are on the dress.

People need to stop obsessing over what color the dress is. It is very interesting to hear what colors other people see. However, it does not need to be a major news story on television. In person, the dress is actually blue and black. Nothing about it is white and gold.

We see the dress in different colors because it has to deal with the way their eyes take in the colors of the photo. Some people see it as blue and black and other people see it as white and gold. This is something that is uncommon, but not something that needs to be blown up into a big deal.

We see pictures differently every day. Also, a picture can be edited to the point where people can see them any way possible. This is not new to anyone. Photoshop has already been a thing.

Do I think that the dress was interesting? Yes, it was something that seemed cool at first glance. Should the dress be on national headlines and daytime talk shows? No, it should not. There are plenty of other things going in the world, and a photo of a dress should not be in news headlines and on Ellen.
