Update: Miller finishes fifth at NCAA Championships

Junior wrestler Ian Miller finished in fifth place for the second consecutive time after earning his second All-American honor at the 2015 NCAA Championships in St. Louis on Saturday.

Miller lost his match Saturday morning to four-time All-American and No. 4 seed James Green of Nebraska 13-4 and then earned a forfeit victory over Dylan Ness of Minnesota in the fifth-place match.

Miller ended 5-2 on the tournament, finishing 20-5 on the season and raising Kent State’s wrestling program total of All-Americans to 25, according to the Kent State athletics website. This is the seventh consecutive year that Kent State has had an All-American.

“These are great life experiences,” coach Jim Andrassy said. “You just have to take advantage of them and hope that in the future you can improve on what you’ve done.”

Kent State finished in the top 30 for team standings for the seventh consecutive season, according to the athletics website.
