Guy’s Pizza

The cozy location of Guy’s Pizza on South Water Street may be small, but its pizza makes a bold impression on Kent State students.

Guy’s Pizza grabbed first place in the best pizza category. Joshua Weiss, who works at Guy’s, explains their first place finish this year.

“The kids love it,” Weiss said. “And old people do too!”

Weiss also credits the first place win to Guy’s classic red sauce, which is found on most of their specialty and regular pies. Guy’s Pizza has an online ordering option and people can choose between delivery and in-store pick-up.

EuroGyro

EuroGyro might be well known for their traditional bar food, but Kent State students also love their pizza.

Coming in second place in the best pizza category, EuroGyro boasts a menu of 11 traditional pizza pie options, as well as eight unique pizza pita choices.

According to EuroGyro’s website, the pizzas are loved because they are made from scratch daily and use fresh ingredients. EuroGyro traditional pizzas range in price from $5.50 to $17.95 while the pizza pitas come in significantly cheaper at around $3.50.

Hungry Howie’s

Hungry Howie’s is the only national chain restaurant winning in the best pizza category and is also the only pizza shop that offers gluten-free options.

The East Main Street location serves non-traditional pizza options, such as an Asian Chicken pizza and Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger pizza.

Patrons are also able to build their own pizza, or opt for other options such as calzones, chicken wings, stuffed rolls, bread sticks or fresh salads.
