Registration open for 2015 Senior Week
Senior Week will be hosted by the Williamson Alumni Center April 27 to May 1.
Seniors can register for only $5, which will give them access to all five events throughout the week.
Dennis Watson, assistant director of Student and Recent Graduate Programs, said some of the events this year are different than past years. He said it’s a chance for seniors to reflect on where they started at Kent State to where they are now.
“We want the seniors to have fun, but also get educated on things they could need as they move forward,” Watson said.
To start off the week on Monday, there will be “Wine at the WAC, ” where seniors will have a chance to network with alumni while enjoying cheese and wine. Watson said this event is already sold out.
Tuesday is the “Donuts and Debt” event held at the WAC, where a professor will come and talk about how to budget life after graduation.
Wednesday’s event, “Show Your Selfie Spirit!” is all on social media with the hashtag “Flashes Forever.” Seniors are encouraged to show their Kent State spirit by wearing blue and gold and tweeting selfies, using the hashtag.
Thursday a “Flashes Forever” event will be held at the arch on the Esplanade near the Wick Poetry Center.
“This is usually our biggest event of the week,” Watson said. “There will be caricature artists, a tattoo artist, a nacho bar, hot air balloon rides and more.”
On Friday the last event will be held “Move Out and Scoop Out” at the WAC, where free ice cream will be handed out along with free boxes for seniors to help them move out of their apartments or dorms.
Registration for Senior Week is available at www.ksualumni.org/seniorweek2015 until April 24.
