Lockdown at Regional Academic Center at Twinsburg lifted

The Regional Academic Center at Twinsburg was under lockdown Tuesday evening after a shooting that killed two people and injured a third after a domestic violence incident, according to Fox 8 News.

The lockdown was lifted around 7:15 p.m., according to a Kent State advisory.

University spokesperson Eric Mansfield said around 200 students and faculty were in the building during the lockdown, and all evening classes were canceled.

He said lockdown procedures were followed, including turning off lights, closing blinds and locking doors.

Kent State’s only involvement in the incident was proximity, Mansfield said.

Fox 8 News reported the incident was on Sherwin Dr. near Darrow Rd. in Twinsburg.
