Phi Delta Theta to host Soberfest

Various disk jockeys will perform for students for an alcohol free event on Oct. 9 between 6-9 p.m. at the Phi Delta Theta house on Fraternity Circle for the sixth annual Soberfest.

Soberfest is a large concert that encourages students to have fun without influences of alcohol, said Max Kraus, president of Phi Delta Theta.

“The purpose of the event is to raise money for the Phi Delta Theta fraternities’ national philanthropy, the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Foundation”, said Kraus.

Attendees will be able to enjoy Soberfest with music and a supply of RedBull to help raise money for the ALS Foundation.

Our greatest hope to result from this event is $10,000 raised for ALS and, most importantly, an enjoyable experience for all attendees,” Kraus said.

Phi Delta Theta will be supplying non-alcoholic drinks so students will not have to worry about bringing their own beverages to the party.

“The event is sponsored by RedBull, and we are supplied with a plethora of product for the enjoyment of the attendees throughout the party,” Kraus said.

The fraternity is hoping to exceed their guest count from its previous year.

“Last year we had over 1,000 attendees, and this year we’re looking to trump that number by far,” Kraus said.

Tickets will cost $10 and will be available at the door at the event.
