RA application available online for students

Students living on campus are now able to begin an application online to become a Resident Assistant (RA) for the 2016-2017 school year.

The application opens Nov. 2 at 8 a.m. and closes Jan. 25 at 8 a.m.

According to Kent State’s website, anyone interested in becoming an RA will have to attend one mandatory meeting to complete the application. Thosemeetings begin Nov. 2, while the last of the five mandatory meetings will be Jan. 19.

While there have not been any major changes to requirements for the position, the process for submitting an application has been slightly tweaked for optimization.

“(The committee has) just tried to clean up the process by which we receive applications and references since it is such a popular position,” Jill Church, director of residence services, said.

As of last year, RAs received apay raise for sharing a room with another person, which is likely to continue with the number of students increasing slightly each year.

Students can begin the application process onKSU’s website.
