Flashes host Cleveland State
The Kent State women’s basketball team (2-3) will continue their home stand Wednesday night against (0-4) Cleveland State University.
Sophomore forward Jordan Korinek is currently leading the Flashes in scoring as well as rebounding. Averaging 17.4 points and eight rebounds per game, Jordan ranks top ten in the MAC in several categories. She ranks eighth in scoring, fourth in rebounds and sixth in minutes played.
Korinek’s early success has come as quite a surprise. Coming into the season, everyone expected strong play from the team leader and captain Larissa Lurken.
Lurken, a junior guard and forward, is the prototypical player in coach Danielle O’Banion’s fast-paced offense and is often times the focal point on offense.
The Flashes will enter the night with an all-time 16-12 record over the now winless Vikings. Korinek and Lurken will be double-trouble for Cleveland State’s defense and will seek to help the team to its second straight win and even out their record.
Tip off is at 7 p.m. in the MAC Center.
