Greek Community Hires New Coordinator

The Greek Community at Kent State recently hired Dasha Harris as the new Coordinator of fraternity and sorority life.

The university held a nation wide search to fill the position, according to Della Marshall, senior associate director. Harris went through an extensive interview process before receiving the position.

“I am very excited about the new coordinator to serve as a helpful source to us, hopefully she is more helpful than the last,” said Kendall Becker, an Alpha Phi member.

Harris was contacted by the university during the hiring process and went through phone interviews and subsequently brought in for a formal interview as well.

“I work with both PanHellenic and InterFraternity councils for projects, budgeting, recruitment and handling any issues that may arise,”  Harris said.

Harris completed her undergraduate work at Miami University where she was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She attended Wright University in Dayton, Ohio, where she received her masters in Student Affairs in Higher Education.

Harris always knew she wanted to work with Greek Life after her time at Miami University.

“I have always said that I may not immediately get a job doing what I love upon graduation but I promised myself to eventually get there,” Harris said.

“Here I am, Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Kent State University,”  Harris said.
