CareerExpo registration deadline approaches
Kent State’s College of Communication and Information (CCI) will host its fourth CareerExpo for juniors, seniors, graduate students and alumni in Cleveland on March 4.
CareerExpo2016 will bring companies from and around Northeast Ohio to the Cleveland Convention Center, allowing students the opportunity to network with potential future employers.
John Butte, career services coordinator for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, said the expo is a great opportunity for students to practice interviewing and finding jobs and summer internships.
“The interesting thing about this expo is these are all employers in your field of study, so it’s kind of like a career expo on steroids,” Butte said.
Over 50 companies will be in attendance, including the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Film Commission, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and many more.
Butte said students should dress to impress, bring 30 copies of their resume and have their elevator pitch ready.
CCI will provide free transportation from Franklin Hall to the Cleveland Convention Center for registered students. CareerExpo2016 will be from 1-4 p.m. Buses will leave Franklin Hall at 11:30 a.m.
Students can still register for free online. The last day for registration is at noon on Monday.
