ShredMania event doubles output from 2015

Kent State University held two successful RecycleMania events, Shred-Mania and an E-Cycle drive, on March 30.

Shred-Mania and the E-Cycle drive attracted 138 people this year, compared to 50 in 2015.

Shred-Mania, an annual university-wide recycling event, collected 2,337 pounds of university shredding, compared to 970 pounds in 2015. 5,542 pounds of papers to be shredded were brought in by members of the community, according to Sustainability Manager Melanie Knowles.

The E-Cycle drive brought in 4,675 pounds of old electronics. During the entire month of March, the university collected 10,086 pounds of surplus electronics, according to Knowles.
