Best of Kent: Best On-Campus Eatery

1st: Quaker Steak & Lube

Not only are they known to have the best wings, Quaker Steak & Lube also offers a great dining atmosphere. With Friday night karaoke at the Rathskeller, interesting decor, a stage for live music and plenty of booth space, students often find this eatery to be one of their favorites on campus.

Stop by for fries, appetizers, and more—and even try their hand at the atomic wings challenge.

“I like their mac and cheese,” said Kennedy Gregg, a freshman exercise science major.

Not just a grab and go, Quaker Steak & Lube has lots of room to sit back and relax with friends. If you’re looking for good food as well as a great experience, Quaker Steak & Lube is sure to deliver.

2nd: Einstein Bros. Bagels

The most popular place to grab breakfast on campus, it’s not uncommon to see the Einstein’s line stretching out the door in the morning. A wide variety of bagels, cream cheeses, sandwiches, coffee and other specialty drinks make this the best spot for morning fuel.

“They have really good smoothies and I like the bagels,” said freshman accounting major Ashley Bradley.

Einstein Bros. Bagels is also great for other meals—wraps, sandwiches and melts are offered throughout the day, making this eatery perfect for every meal.

3rd: Rosie’s Diner and Market

A large menu contained in a self-ordering system, Rosie’s is the quintessential on-campus eatery. Offering everything from all day breakfast—including delicious waffles—to vegetarian and vegan options, Rosie’s is a staple for Kent State students.

“There’s a lot of different options, which is nice,” said Chris Charek, a digital media production major. “Rosie’s is really great because it’s the only 24/7 place. So if it’s one of those late nights with friends, where we’re all just messing around, it’s like, ‘Let’s go Rosie’s.'”

Whether it’s all of the great selections, the convenient ordering system or the classic diner-style seating and bar area, students come to Rosie’s for meal at any time of the day.
