Former Kent State standout offensive lineman Josh Kline was released by the New England Patriots after a deal to trade Kline to Philadelphia fell through earlier this week.

Kline signed with the Patriots in 2013 after a stellar career with the Flashes, notching multiple starts in all four years of his college career. He was a part of the 2012 team that appeared in the MAC Championship loss to Northern Illinois University.

During his three-year professional career, Kline has appeared in 33 games, starting in 18 of those games.

Kline fell victim to another round of cuts on the offensive line by the Patriots as several linemen have been released or traded in the past couple of weeks.
