Lambda Chi Alpha’s Pumpkin Bash to raise money for Feeding America
Kent State’s Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity is raising money to donate food to Feeding America at its annual philanthropy event, Pumpkin Bash, set for this Sunday.
The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Manchester Field, and will include events such as bobbing for gourds, obstacle courses, dizzy bat, relay sack races and pumpkin pong.
“It’s just fun to see this many people gather around just to support the cause that you care about,” said Bryant Allbrittin, a junior digital science major and Lambda Chi Alpha’s president.
To participate in the Pumpkin Bash, students must pay $5, which will be donated to Feeding America. Along with money, canned goods can be donated to the organization at the event.
“Last year we had 33,000 pounds (of food),” Allbrittin said. “Our external vice president, who does philanthropy and community service, has a goal to raise over 40,000 pounds of food this year.”
