Students will have the opportunity to have a professional portrait taken for their LinkedIn profile Feb. 23 at the Job and Internship Fair from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Kent State Field House.

“I think it’s highly beneficial,” said Kent State Alumni Relations Assistant Director Dennis Watson, who oversees student and recent graduate programs.

“Employers look at your LinkedIn to kind of see who you’re connected with or what you’re involved in during your time at Kent State and if they see like a selfie or a photo of you and your dog, that can steer them off.”

No registration is required and the event is open to all students and alumni.

“The big thing that we want to emphasize is that it is free,” Watson said. “We eat the cost for the professional photographer to come and do that. That’s why we feel that it’s so important that not only just students but also alumni, stop by because you want an updated picture on this profile.”

Attendees are asked to dressed professionally.

Photos will be emailed seven to 10 days after they are taken.
