Kent State to host 54th Bowman Breakfast
Kent State focuses on local businesses that have a global impact at the 54th semiannual Bowman Breakfast scheduled for April 5 at 7:30 a.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
“The Bowman Breakfast brings us together twice a year to reflect on the importance of what I call the three C’s,” said Lori Wemhoff, executive director of the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce. “Collaboration, cooperation — and what I believe is most important to the success of all involved — communication.”
This is the third year that the springtime Bowman Breakfast has centered its discussion around the topic of the international impact Kent businesses have.
“We know the impact that these businesses have on the local economy here in Kent,” Wemhoff said. “But we want to focus on the kind of impact they have on the global economy.”
Featured speakers include Dan Jackson, accounting controller and human resources and information technology manager at Seal Master; Kristina Lonon, account manager at ELBEX Corp.; and Lawrence Rentz, vice president and general manager of Maag Americas, Maag Automatik Inc.
In the past, speakers from Davey Tree, Land O’Lakes Inc., Smithers-Oasis and several others also attended the event.
The Bowman Breakfast celebrates the relationship between the city of Kent and Kent State, or “town and gown.”
“I think if you take a look around the city and campus, and how it appears to seamlessly blend together, the efforts being made by so many are working, and working very well,” Wemhoff said.
The event is open to the public, and the cost to attend is $12 per person, payable at the door by cash or check.
Reservations must be made online or by contacting Mary Mandalari at 330-672-8664 or [email protected] by March 30 for anyone interested in attending the event.
