Women’s golf to compete against top-ranked teams in Texas

The Kent State women’s golf team will travel to Lubbock, Texas to compete in the NCAA Regional Tournament, hosted by Texas Tech.

There are four regional tournaments, which take place in Columbus, Ohio; Lubbock, Texas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Athens, Georgia.

The NCAA Regional Tournament is set for May 8-10 at The Rawls Course.

Kent State will be competing with several teams ranked in the top 25 in the NCAA, including No. 2 UCLA, No. 7 Arizona and No. 10 Furman, among other highly-ranked teams.

The NCAA Division I Golf Committee selected tournament lineups. The tournament competitors and locations are predetermined to even the playing field, which is why the Flashes will be traveling to Texas rather than Columbus.

The top six teams and three individuals from each regional tournament will advance to the NCAA finals.

Northorn Illinois University will host the NCAA finals tournament in Sugar Grove, Illinois. The competition will run from May 19-24.
